AMAZON DDU OPERATIONS

VEHICLE MANAGEMENT
Use Samsara to claim your assigned truck & perform all mandatory Pre/Post-trip inspections. Cameras are always on when the truck is on providing a Picture every 5 minutes. A 20-second video will record if a harsh event is detected.
FUEL CARD
Fuel cards are ordered by the Fleet Manager & assigned by vehicle. Each fuel card is required to stay in the assigned truck. They are to be kept in the driver's side visor. When fueling be sure to NOT swipe the card twice or they will lock you out.
DVIR
Select your truck and bypass trailer selection. Click “DVIR”. Perform PRE/POST trip inspections. Create a new log & complete. Make sure to notate if it’s a Pre-Trip or Post-Trip.

Required 10-15 min inspection:

Paperwork (Truck registration & insurance/liability)
Conduct a pre-trip before being dispatched. Perform a post-trip upon your return. Both results are noted on your driver log.
Basic Functions:

How Loads are assigned including an overview of the entire route

Scanning feature to virtually transfer all packages from Amazon’s System to your truck manifest

Insert license plate of the vehicle you will be driving at the start of a shift

“Swipe To Arrive” feature for all locations embedded in the app

Checking In:

QR Code prompts when “Swiping to Arrive” at Amazon

An Amazon Guard Shack personnel will scan this and assign you a designated door

Check-in with the Logistics Team after parking on the dock. They will verify your route and total Pallets/Packages you will take.

Proceed to specified “Lane” and scan all packages designated for your Post Offices.
Checking Out:

Load all items in the correct order after scanning

Verify with Logistics total scanned packages

Confirm within the app that you verified with an Amazon Logistics Specialist

The app will prompt with the address to the first Post Office
BARCODES
If a barcode will not scan, take a picture and show it to Logistics. They will print another barcode for you. This will be scanned at Amazon & Post Offices.
VERIFY ARRIVAL TIMES
Postal workers wait until your arrival time to show up. If it's past your arrival time, contact ROC. The number is located under the “Support Center” in the menu in the upper left-hand corner of Relay.
UNEXPECTED BARCODE
This may appear when unloading at the post office. Take a picture of the label and send it to your Manager/Dispatcher and continue as normal.
BAD OR DAMAGED BARCODES
Send a clear picture of the label to your Manager/Dispatcher. You will then click on the “Pallet ID” in Relay and select “Barcode won't Scan” and continue as normal. Amazon expects 100% scans while at Amazon and at the Post Offices
3 VITAL TIMES
1. CPT (Critical Pull Time)
Refers to departure time at Amazon.
2. Arrival Times
Make sure the Relay app detects your arrival to all stops on your route.
3. CET (Critical Execution Time)
All items that are being delivered are contracted with USPS to have all packages delivered by 8 am.
USPS EXPECTATIONS
Respect their property and employees. It is Federal Law to chalk tires while at a Post Office. Drive Safely through their property. Assess their drop off layout (dock, special dock set up, no dock), and park accordingly. Find a Postal Worker to complete drop off. Safely drop all designated packages for Post Office either on their dock or in their vestibule. Never leave a pallet unattended without a USPS employee present.
DOT WEIGH STATIONS
You must stop at all Weight Stations. If given an inspection, follow commands from the DOT inspector and notify a Manager/Dispatcher.
If you submit a violation-free inspection to your manager, you will receive a $50 Bonus!
